Abstract Watercolor 4/30

Hi! Flowers are one of my very favorite things to sketch, stamp, or paint so I had to do another card for today`s Free 4 All Challenge. We are celebrating May Day. Read about it here.

I used Bazzill textured CS for my base. I used European Watercolor Paper for my painting and matted it with PTI Hawaiin Shores.

Several of you have expressed interest in my watercolor pictures. Usually I choose my colors first. It pays to use a good quality watercolor paper and watercolors. I use Peerless. They have such an array of colors and are easy to use. I also use an AquaBrush and usually a liner pen and brush. You can wet your paper or mist it after applying some colors. Let it roll on the paper. Then scrape some spots with your nail, toothpick, most anything. Not hard enough to tear the paper. Just to make streaks. Now the hardest part. Let it DRY! When you see forms shaping add to them. Let dry again. Then you can use an outline pen, or liner brush to outline. I like more of an abstract look so quite often I do not even do this. You can then add more color as needed. It really is a good bit of fun. And...different people will see different things in your work. That is what I so love about abstracts. So give it a try! Have any questions please just leave me a comment and I will get back to you. Thanks for you taking the time to visit my blog and leave such wonderful comments. YOU keep me going!!
