Hi all! Decided to post a bit early today. I did this card for the Ways To Use it challenge which was to use time as a theme. I have always loved this quote. I picked out one of my fancier fonts and printed it out on vellum. Speaking of fonts does anyone else have a zillion? I do! It is rather annoying having to scroll through so many trying to pick one out.
Used Magenta embellishments as I decided to try and use up things I had bought way back when. I also did an altered card which was just a bit silly but I did it nevertheless. You can see it in my gallery at SCS by clicking on the badge to the right.
I may post late just to wish everyone a Happy New Year!! No big plans in this household. DH will more than likely pick up something nice for dinner. I would rather sit at home with our dogs and eat rather than go out on New Years Eve. Too many people out for us! And SyFy is having a marathon of Twilight Zones (they do this every New Years) and I watch all 48 hours!! LOL I know them all by heart and still enjoy each and every one. Very dreary and cold day here. I want all of you who are venturing out to please be safe and on the alert for stupid drivers this evening. And have some fun!! Hugs!!!!!!!

Hi all! Well here finally is my card for today`s sketch challenge. Roxie always does such a wonderful job. I used to find this challenge one of the easiest to come up with a card but here lately it seems to be the opposite. Why? I have no idea. Once I did finally decide on what to do this came together quickly. But it was just one of those days today. I was clumsy and kept losing things. And when I drop things on the floor of my craft room our Molly is only too happy to retrieve and eat what I have dropped! LOL
Thanks to my new followers and all who have left such dear comments. I appreciate each and every one. And thanks for those who recommended books. Always on the lookout for something new to read and will be checking our local library to look for these. I may be back later tonight with some more chit chat! Hugs!!!

Hi again! Had to share this cutie patootie picture of our gd Ariel after opening her American Girl doll Julie. She really was surprised! This is the doll from 1973 and looks a bit hippyish. LOL And actually that is a year my dh and I really did look like hippies. Ahhh...the memories.
Ok on to another subject. Reading. Anyone have any good books to pass on? I readily admit to being a Twilight fan but have long since read all the books. I am moving on to the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris which are much more adult orientated. If you ever watched True Blood on HBO you will be familiar with these characters. I absolutely love to read and have an addiction to buying books from Amazon.com and Barnes and Nobles. So let me know what you are reading! Well...I guess I should be heading to bed soon. It will be time to get up before too long! And look out for the posting of the blog candy tomorrow. Sleep well all!

Hi all! Hope everyone had a great day. I was sleepy today...I think the past weeks festivities are catching up with me. Ok...on to my card. This was another double challenge card. It was for today`s color challenge at SCS which was to use Barely Banana, Dusty Durango, and Basic Gray. It was also for Teapot Tuesday challenge which was hosted by Sabrina. You can read all about our fun times here. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=473441
If you have never done this challenge you need to! We have the best time!
I used this old Stamp Cabana stamp. I embossed it with Detail Black EP on glossy paper and then sponged with todays colors and cut out. I then added the star charm and great sentiment from PTI Star Prints. I always do some little thing on the inside of my cards and on the envelopes. But thats just me!
Good news my peeps! I am adding a photo of my blog candy tomorrow so the contest will officially start tomorrow and run through next Wednesday. The winner will be randomly selected by post numbers and will be announced on my blog next Thursday. Yippee! All you have to do is leave a comment on my post of the day. One comment per post please. But if I am newsy one day and do more than one post feel free to comment again and it will count. Thanks! I will be back in a bit with a cute pic of our gd and a question for you. Hugs!!

Hi all! First I will let you know about this card. When I saw the Featured Stamper was SmilynStef I knew I would be making her a card. Her gallery at SCS is totally amazing! And she is our hostess on Saturday`s for the Inspiration Challenge which is a definite favorite for me. So I cased this card of hers

This card also qualified for todays CAS challenge which was to be inspired by Disney. I felt like a castle would somewhere have tiles like these. At least my castle would! I so love CAS style cards. I seem to be doing more and more of them. I love this particular set of embossing folders by Cuttlebug. I even embossed the envelope which is a standard business size. I like how it turned out.
Thanks to all who have left me such nice comments and are following me. I will be gathering some blog candy one day this week and will put a photo on my blog of the contents. All you will have to do to win will be to leave a comment on the post of your choice for the week I get it going. But if you leave a comment daily your chances to win will increase! So watch out for new posts!
I don`t know about you but I am totally addicted to challenges. I usually stay up on Monday night to see the Color Challenge posting and Teaparty Tuesday. And Cook22 (Sabrina) is our hostess this week! This lucky and talented girl lives in Ireland and is a dear friend. Can`t wait to see what she has cooked up! (pun intended!) Please join in on the fun if you have not already. This challenge is listed on the Forums Page under Challenges. See you soon! Hugs all!!

Hi all! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We did! And ate too much. I was so wound up I stayed up and did todays inspiration challenge at SCS. We went to this wonderful site called Posh Tots. I went out of my comfort zone today and drew and then watercolored my image. I found it to be very relaxing and think I will try to do more of these! If you would like to see a close up you can click on the picture.
We are off tomorrow for a day of eating out and shopping with the kids. Sure hope the weather turns out to be better than today! The ground is so saturated it just squishes when I walk the dogs. Hope you have a lovely day! Hugs!!

Hi all! I finally had a chance to do the Ways To Use It challenge at SCS. We were to use background stamps. I love En Francais so did a gay Paris card! I embossed with Black Detail EP then used Versamark Chalk Ink Dew Drops in Pastel Colors. Anne Ryan graciously gave these to me along with many other goodies. This was the first time I had tried these and I love them! So cool for direct to paper backgrounds. I think I would like to collect all the colors! I then added a sticker from Cavallini & Co and added pearls. Easy peasy but I love how it turned out.
The kids have arrived safe and sound and its a good thing too as we have a winter storm warning for tonight into tomorrow morning. Ice this time! I hope it passes us by. Some snow is still left and the yard is so saturated with water it is one big red clay mess! The dogs have not been able to play outside in the fenced area for days...poor pups! I know they get bored indoors all day. I walk them some but this does not take the place of running free. We had a delicious dinner of shrimp, veggies and dips, crackers and cheeses, pepporoni and salami, pickles, olives, and a fruit platter! Also have home made cookies galore and pecan pie for later. I see dieting in the New Year! Here is a picture of Kristine and Andrew snuggled up. We are watching Christmas Story at 8 so need to run. Family tradition to watch this every year! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas Eve! Hugs to you all!

New Blog and Almost Christmas!
So as I sit here thinking of what to say in my first post I have a sense of excitement. So many new things to come in this New Year. With this new blog I hope to share my artwork, photographs, and sometimes just general chit chat on life and what may go on in the Rose household.
I can hardly believe Christmas Eve is tomorrow! Our son, Andrew and his wife, Kristine should be here by tomorrow around dinner time. And I cannot wait! We have such a good time when they come home for a visit. We trade off each year for Thanksgiving and Christmas because we have to share them with Kristine`s family. And while I will miss my mom to the point of feeling like I cannot breathe I will go on and have a happy holiday.I know she is in a better place.Jason, our other son cannot make it this year but has promised us a visit soon in the coming New Year. And so it goes. I hope to take some pictures I can share with all of you during our time together. I hope all of you get to spend time with family and those you love.Maybe tomorrow I will have time to sneak in a challenge card between cleaning up and getting anxious until the kids arrive.Think the bed is calling my name but maybe I will first check the challenges at Splitcoast to see if it has been posted early. Night all!
