Double Challenge Card 5/11 Hero Arts

Hi! This is a double challenge card. 1st challenge is today`s Color Challenge which was to use Melon Mambo, Soft Suede, Neutrals and the dessert option was wood. Read about it here.

MMTPT93 Challenge
We are off to the Bat Cave and I brought along these poppies to pretty it up and have it smell good.I stamped this Hero Arts image with HA Chalk Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I then stamped with brown Memento Ink on white cs and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol then cut the blooms out and popped them up. The inside has SU DP and I used a SU Border Punch. I tied twine around my main panel. The envelope is stamped with another poppy from HA. I got this idea from the HA blog. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day! It is dark and dreary here today (although I am not complaining as we need rain) but it made it very difficult to photograph. That is why I have included 2 photos. One is too dark ...the other too light! Thanks for stopping by! I hope you like it!

The 2nd challenge is yesterday`s Queen for the Day ~ And this week the crown goes to allee`s ~ aka Lynn!! I was thrilled as Lynn is as sweet as they come...always ready with a meaningful comment and a kind word. And boy can she stamp! I love her gallery! Read about it here.

 I finally chose this card.
Lynn`s Card
I love the simplicity. I thought my card or Lynn`s would be perfect for a set of notecards. I just stamped my Hero Art`s butterfly and added one silver pearl. Knotted some SU Gingham ribbon and attached and on the inside glued a line of ribbon down. Added a PTI sentiment and stamped my envelope with a flower from the same HA set. WT269 Challenge
 I opted for a Tim Holtz Safety Pin to hold my Gingham Ribbon and my Sentiment tag. I am disappointed in the colors of the photo...it is not a true orange it is more a golden color. The new Butterfly Garden stamp from Hero Arts was stamped half and half with HA Chalk Inks and then I splattered a bit. These colors match a line of Layering Papers from Hero Arts called Hero Hues. That is what I used for my layers. Inside I used a EX Success Corner Punch and on the envelope I stamped. Sat on my hands as I wanted another CAS card. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!
Danny is home (which tells me he is feeling worse than lousy!) and went for an xray yesterday to see if he had pneumonia. We never did hear back and he returns to the doctor tomorrow so we will see. I need to get him better!!!

Double Challenge Card 5/4

Hi! Well this is a double challenge card which has not been uploaded to SCS yet as they have asked us to not upload anything while they try to get the dreaded red x problem solved. I suppose those who are uploading have not seen the message posted on the homepage and under Site Suggestions and Questions. First this card is for the Color Challenge which was to use Cameo Coral, Gable Green, and Lovely Lilac. I did not use the dessert option of using clear cs. Read about it here.
CC269 Challenge
 I first stamped La Lettre from Hero Arts with Distressed Ink and sponged some on as well. I then overstamped the HA Wildflowers using SU Markers Direct to Stamp and spritzing with water. I then just made 3 tabs with todays colors using the SU Word Window Punch and added one white Candy Dot. Inside I used Basic Grey Green at Heart DP and punched the opposite corners with a MS Corner Punch. I stamped the envelope with just one of the flowers. It is also for todays Teaparty Tuesday where things are disappearing! My memory must have left me as I did use a bit of Bermuda Bay on my flowers. So I hope the challenge police don`t come after me for I did not do this 42,000 times but once. Read about it here.

I was not that familiar with her work so had lots of fun going through her sweet gallery. Love her style! Congrats to you Michelle! I finally chose this recent card to case.
Michelle`s Card
I changed the orientation of my card. Rather than using a dp I embossed vellum. I changed the colors and rather than a stamped circle I used a Prima Aqua Flower. Enjoy your week Michelle!
The second challenge is today`s Technique Challenge which was to emboss vellum. The bonus was to make a Mother`s Day card. We no longer have a mom,mil, or Godmother in our lives so just did this in their honor. Love you mom! Not a day goes by that I don`t think of you. You can read about it here.
TLC271 Challenge
The third challenge is today`s Clean and Simple challenge which was to use May Day Flowers or Mother`s Day as our theme. So I used both actually. My mom could not see so I tried to make cards with texture that she could feel. This embossing with the satin ribbon, rose, and rhinestones fit the bill I thought. The envelope is embossed as well though hard to see in the photo. I hope she knows it was made with love. Read about it here.
