IC234 Challenge 5/29

Hi! This is the card I did for today`s Inspiration Challenge brought to us by Stephanie and suggested by Dara to go to Crate and Barrel. Read about it here.

There were so many choices but I finally went with this Providence Print.

I freehand watercolored it using Peerless Watercolors and changed up the colors a bit. I matted in gray and popped it up. Used Memory Box DP on the inside and punched my swirl for the envelope with an EK Success Punch. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking and have a safe and happy holiday weekend!

Hi! This is the card I did for our Queen for the Day and this week the spinner landed on Scrappigramma2 aka Grace!!! Wahoo!! I simply cannot believe you have not been FS yet!!! Your gallery is simply amazing and your talent is outstanding!!! And you are such a sweet person as well!!! I did not base my card on any particular card of yours Grace...your cards are so intricate I felt I would not come close to your expertise. So instead I did a card I thought you may like from what I have seen in your gallery. See her great gallery here.

Look for it to arrive soon! I chose another Penny Black image and watercolored it. I matted and popped it up on a panel that had been embossed partly witha new SU Sizzix Folder. The word hello is from PTI and the butterfly on the inside and envelope is from HA. I also used a border punch from SU on the inside. Added my treasured tiny gems from Peggy and was done! Congrats Grace!!!!!!!!!!! Just know you have to wear that heavy crown all day!! I hope it does not give you a headache! LOL I am so glad we are honoring you today!! We were to be inspired by a collection of ours...not craft/stamp related. Well I collect cranberry glass but did not have an appropriate stamp for that. So then it hit me that the card I just did for the Way to Use It challenge was also perfect for this challenge so if you would like to see it is the post below this one. I too love birds, nature, and flowers. So anything related to that including birdhouses and flowers was perfect! Thought these would make a nice set of notecards...you could always add a sentiment inside. I wanted the focus on the picture so the only embellishment I used on this card as well were the doodads from Anne Ryan that I used inside and on the envelope. I watercolored, matted in black, and popped the image up. Hope you are not getting sick of these Penny Black stamps but when I ran across that box with wins from ebay I just can`t stop using them! I just love them and hope you do too. Thanks for looking and have a safe and happy holiday weekend! Our son and his wife will be coming so I am a happy gal!! And yes...I am up late again!

Ways to Use It Challenge 5/27

Hi! Just had to do another card for today`s Way to Use It challenge...to use paint. I stamped this Penny Black image with Memento Black and watercolored. Matted it in black and popped it up. The only embellishment I used was inside and on the envelope. Anne Ryan gifted me with these great doodads. :-) Thanks for looking and have a wonderful evening!

So I watercolored with real paints. The cute image is from Penny Black. I cut out using a Circle Nestie and sponged my sky and ground. I then popped it up. I tore my Memory Box DP with a deckled ruler and used half on the front of the card and half on the inside. I used a strip on my envelope as well. I added tiny gems from Peggy (thanks again gf!) for her buttons and as an accent on the circle. My butterfly is a SU Sizzix Cut and Emboss Die. I stamped just a note from Memory Box. Thanks for looking and have a great day! I want to do another but have to do some weeding first!

I used PTI White CS for my base and ran the bottom third through the Swiss Dots EB Folder along with my envelope. My image is from Penny Black and I colored it with Copic Markers and matted it with Green Olive and popped it up. While cleaning my craft room I ran across a huge box of stamps I had won on ebay a long time ago! So I have been having a ball! I used SU Ribbon and my treasured tiny gems from Peggy! The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Amuse. I hope you like it! Thanks for looking and have a fabulous Wednesday! Its way past my bedtime!! Fran thanks for filling in today!! You did a fabulous job!! I used a Penny Black image and colored it with Copic Markers. It is hard to see but three tulips are stamped again, cut out, and popped up. I then matted it and popped it up over my panel which I used the new SU EB Folder on along with my envelope. I added an accent button on my ribbon strip and a bow to my image. Inside I used an EK Success Corner Punch. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!! And thanks to those who wished me well with my fall. I am pretty sore and really did a job on my knee and ankle but I am hobbling along!

I used dp from Black Market Paper Society ~ Letters From Paradise inside and out and on my envelope. I would have had it uploaded much sooner but when my dh came home he came to look at my cards (as he does every day) and I tripped on my Ott Light cord and fell down hard! YIKES! I think I have rubber bones...my left knee and right wrist and ankle have swelled up and bruised and I bet I will be sore tomorrow but it could have been much worse. I think I scared 10 years off my dh! And boy don`t I feel like an idiot! So after all that I had to upload the card! Thanks for looking and have a great evening!

I really liked the soft subtle coloring. I changed the orientation of my card, changed the colors, and used a candy dot rather than use ribbon. I kept the tree theme but changed mine to a fall landscape. I think this card could even be ok for a guy. IC233 Challenge

I did not even move past the first page for my inspiration as I have so been loving yellow right now. And combined with black and a slight bit of orange I knew what I wanted to do. The 2nd challenge is for this week`s Flutterby Wednesday where Kris has challenged us to use a flower with our butterfly, angel, or fairy. My stamp is from Impressions Obsession and I colored it with Copic Markers and used the Dimple Punch on the corners and added tiny gemstones. I mounted it on black cs and my next layer was Core`dinations yellow to give some texture. I added a seam binding bow with a clear button and twine. I left a sentiment off until I know what I am using it for. The inside top corner is punched with a MS punch. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous Saturday!

I was gifted with a Zentangle supply box by a dear friend and receive their newsletters so was familiar with the technique. It can be very relaxing! The paper I used is what comes in their kit. I tried to get an oval sentiment on the card but I don`t have any printer ink (ran out awhile ago and I need to replace it!) because I thought of using a computer generated sentiment. So had to go to Plan B and I used a sailboat charm in place of the oval. Boy...the challenge police may be after me this week! I sketched my image and used Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol to color. I used Core`dinations CS for my panel and on the inside of my card and envelope. I sanded and distressed and added twine and the charm. Added a few silver pearls and was done. Color Challenge 5/18

Hi! Late getting started today...doctor`s appointment. So decided to go with a CAS card today for the color challenge at SCS which was to use Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, and So Saffron. I did cheat a bit and substituted Crushed Curry for Saffron. I love this set from Hero Arts...notecards could be used for any occasion and are so easy to mail! Added a sentiment from PTI and a bit of ribbon and stamped inside and on the envelope. Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day!

FS171 Challenge
I kept the same number of layers but changed the image, distressed mine, and added an embossed border at the bottom rather than a sentiment. The envelope is embossed as well. I also added pearls rather than a butterfly. The inside has a HA flower in the corner and the sentiment from Whipper Snapper reads ~ I hope you will be back in full bloom soon!

I sketched and watercolored my poppies for the inside and out with Peerless Watercolors and an AquaBrush. I then cut them out and popped them up. I added a butterfly paper charm and ribbon to the card and envelope. The sentiment is from SU Watercolor Trio. I am a bit undecided about this card but I am too tired to redo and I have an entire day planned for tomorrow. Will comment late. I changed the stamp but kept to the theme of bg script with an image. I changed my colors to yellow and white. I left off the eyelets and added Gold Pearls to my spotlighted butterfly and used ribbon tabs. I also distressed my main image panel and circle. I also added Yellow Stickles to my butterfly. I also embossed my So Saffron layer, inside bottom of my card, and envelope with the SU Square Lattice EB folder Enjoy your day of fame Linda! You deserve it! Hugs!

Hi Peeps! Well, I got up this morning to a pleasant surprise! Sweet Vicki Dutcher had passed on a Beautiful Blogger Award to me! I so admire Vicki as a person, crafter, and am proud to call her my friend! I am now supposed to pass on a few things about myself. Well most of you already know common things about me so these are things you may not know.
I love all things pink and girly although I am more of a tomboy myself. I love changing my hair color, getting my nails done, and got a rose tattoo on my leg at the age of 51!
I love puppy breath, the beach, a good book, Bon Jovi, lobster, oysters on the halfshell, sushi, and a bloody steak.
I love cranberry glass, red lobster suckers that you get at Cape Cod, and Real Maple Candy that come in a box and are in the shapes of leaves.
 I love my BMW, the smell of my sheets after hanging outside, and Windows 7 because I am a PC and Windows 7 was my idea. :-)

We are off to the Bat Cave and I brought along these poppies to pretty it up and have it smell good.I stamped this Hero Arts image with HA Chalk Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I then stamped with brown Memento Ink on white cs and colored with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol then cut the blooms out and popped them up. The inside has SU DP and I used a SU Border Punch. I tied twine around my main panel. The envelope is stamped with another poppy from HA. I got this idea from the HA blog. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day! It is dark and dreary here today (although I am not complaining as we need rain) but it made it very difficult to photograph. That is why I have included 2 photos. I love the simplicity. I thought my card or Lynn`s would be perfect for a set of notecards. I just stamped my Hero Art`s butterfly and added one silver pearl. Knotted some SU Gingham ribbon and attached and on the inside glued a line of ribbon down. Added a PTI sentiment and stamped my envelope with a flower from the same HA set.  I opted for a Tim Holtz Safety Pin to hold my Gingham Ribbon and my Sentiment tag. I am disappointed in the colors of the photo...it is not a true orange it is more a golden color. The new Butterfly Garden stamp from Hero Arts was stamped half and half with HA Chalk Inks and then I splattered a bit. These colors match a line of Layering Papers from Hero Arts called Hero Hues. That is what I used for my layers. Inside I used a EX Success Corner Punch and on the envelope I stamped. Sat on my hands as I wanted another CAS card. Thanks for looking and have a fabulous day!
Danny is home (which tells me he is feeling worse than lousy!) and went for an xray yesterday to see if he had pneumonia. We never did hear back and he returns to the doctor tomorrow so we will see. I need to get him better!!!

Double Challenge Card 5/4

Hi! Well this is a double challenge card which has not been uploaded to SCS yet as they have asked us to not upload anything while they try to get the dreaded red x problem solved. I suppose those who are uploading have not seen the message posted on the homepage and under Site Suggestions and Questions. First this card is for the Color Challenge which was to use Cameo Coral, Gable Green, and Lovely Lilac. I did not use the dessert option of using clear cs. Read about it here.
CC269 Challenge
 I first stamped La Lettre from Hero Arts with Distressed Ink and sponged some on as well. I then overstamped the HA Wildflowers using SU Markers Direct to Stamp and spritzing with water. I then just made 3 tabs with todays colors using the SU Word Window Punch and added one white Candy Dot. Inside I used Basic Grey Green at Heart DP and punched the opposite corners with a MS Corner Punch. I stamped the envelope with just one of the flowers. It is also for todays Teaparty Tuesday where things are disappearing! My memory must have left me as I did use a bit of Bermuda Bay on my flowers. So I hope the challenge police don`t come after me for I did not do this 42,000 times but once. Read about it here.

I changed the orientation of my card. Rather than using a dp I embossed vellum. I changed the colors and rather than a stamped circle I used a Prima Aqua Flower. Enjoy your week Michelle!
The second challenge is today`s Technique Challenge which was to emboss vellum. The bonus was to make a Mother`s Day card. We no longer have a mom,mil, or Godmother in our lives so just did this in their honor. Love you mom! Not a day goes by that I don`t think of you. You can read about it here.

The third challenge is today`s Clean and Simple challenge which was to use May Day Flowers or Mother`s Day as our theme. So I used both actually. My mom could not see so I tried to make cards with texture that she could feel. This embossing with the satin ribbon, rose, and rhinestones fit the bill I thought. The envelope is embossed as well though hard to see in the photo. I hope she knows it was made with love. Read about it here.
